This piece is about the lie of competition and accreditation that has haunted me my whole life. We are told that we need to earn respect, that we don’t deserve praise and love unless we are comparatively the best. The meritocracy is a lie. We shouldn’t have to suffer for university degrees and first place ribbons.

Made by hand dyeing yellow plaid wool and blue silk, polyester, 3D printed and gilded resin, and UV resin.
